The weather is starting to get warmer and that means spring is coming. With spring comes spring sports and WCC has turned the page from one season to another.

WCC Club Sports will have at least six competitive club sports teams and possibly add three more.

Men's baseball, women's softball, co-ed outdoor volleyball, co-ed golf, and co-ed cross-country are all slated to start sometime in May.

Mike Glass and the athletic department are working on getting an outdoor soccer league for men, women, and possibly a co-ed team.

There is much anticipation surrounding this year's baseball team, as they ran through the spring/summer league last season.

The team returns five starters from last year's championship squad. Athletic director Mike Glass is high on this year's team to contend for another title.

"We always have high expectations," Glass stated. "We have a tremendous amount of talent in the area and at the school."

The softball team is scheduled to start May 7, and will have double headers every Monday over the course of the season.

The WCC Golf team will get back into the swing of things April 25 at Huron Hills golf course and right now the outdoor volleyball league is to be played at Wines Elementary School.

The volleyball league location may be moved near the new athletic facility at WCC that is near its completion. This remains speculation, however, as it is still up in the air if outdoor volleyball pits will be put in.

The timeline for the opening of the state of the art complex is scheduled for this August and students and staff can start applying for memberships as early as this month.

With so many improvements and sports taking place at once Glass certainly has his hands full, but still is front and center for the club sports program here at WCC.

"I like being part of them all," Glass said. "The most important thing is that it is great for the kids and that's really what its about."
