The play will make an appearance with the same cast at the Riverside Arts Center Feb 21-25. The move was made possible thanks to help from Technical Director Barry LaRue who teaches theater technology here at WCC as well as serving on the board at Riverside, according to Tracy Komarmy, head of WCC's Performing Arts department. The move allows WCC students to take their performance outside of campus and out into the community.
Komarmy said that talks of a performance at Riverside began around late December when the play was performed at WCC, when students began considering offering a second performance of the successful play instead of going on to start production on a new play for the winter semester. When the students tore down the set, they were careful not to completely destroy any or the props and background as is usual when a play ends in preparation for a second performance.
While this isn't the first time a play at WCC "graduated" into a performance elsewhere, this is still a unique exception to the rule. WCC is supporting the department in their endeavor through rent payments and other technical requirements.
